Trend Report – Our Favourite Trends for Spring/Summer '19

Fall is officially here – and that means layers, coats and trading your sandals in for boots. With that being said, fashion is always looking forward so we thought we’d warm things up with a Spring/Summer ’19 preview from our favourite brands.

SEXY CUTS

Skin is still in! Almost every designer showcased crop tops, barely-there bodysuits and sheer details that leave little to the imagination. But sexy can be done properly – as evidenced by Jacquemus’ sexy sheer knit dresses and oversized tied-shirts. The collection was inspired by the designer’s childhood in Southern France, meaning every piece will have you wanting to go on vacation ASAP.

DRAPING

In the last few seasons, draping has been a focal point for many designers. Saint Laurent did a fantastic job for Spring/Summer, offering up flowy-yet-structured takes on some of the house’s more classic designs. In particular, we love the sheer leopard dresses and plunging black tiered dresses that are both elegant and very modern. Draping was also extremely important at Balenciaga, as extremely structured suits and oversized shirts took over the runway.

MODERN ROMANCE

Very few brands do modern romance better than Isabel Marant and Chloe. Both brands have always provided a sartorial take on elevated boho and 70s inspired accessories. Next season is no different, with both designers offering plenty of flowy dresses, floral patterns and soft textures that are a perfect updated take on the romantic trend.
